HIGH SCHOOL CHILDREN CONNECT COUNTRIES AND CITIES OF EUROPE

Delegations of students and professors from Austria and grammar school `Svetozar Markovic` from Nis (Palilula) were welcomed by PhD Igor Novakovic, president of Palilula Municipality. This meeting for students was organized celebration of the decade of the `Alliance of secondary schools of Europe`. In very cordial conversation many examples of good practice of these local government and grammar school were emphasized.

FACULTY OF WORK SAFETY PROMOTES ITS PROGRAMME IN BULGARIA

Within the framework of regional-neighbor cooperation of twinned municipalities - Svoge Municipality and Palilula Municipality, the promotion of Faculty of work safety was organized in Bulgaria. Emil Atanasov-Cvetanov, president of Svoge Municipality, as a host of this meeting, organized a reception for Palilula Municipal delegation, headed by Milan Djurdjevic, president of Palilula Assembly and Faculty representatives , headed by the dean of this prestigious educational institution - PhD Dragan Spasic and Assistant Professor Dr Goran Ristic, Vice - Dean for the quality and development.

`FEAST OF FLOWERS` –FOR CLEANER HOME TOWN

23.04.2009.

Within the programme of international – neighborhood cooperation, two municipalities that recently have signed Twinning Agreement: Palilula Municipality - Serbia and Svoge Municipality – Bulgaria, together celebrated `Earth Planet Day`. These two municipalities organized the event with the pupils from `Kralj Petar Prvi` and `Sv. Ivan Rilski` schools. In Iskrec, the most settled part of Svoge, `Feast of Flowers` was organized by the pupils and teachers from `Sv Ivan Rilski` school. The activities started with coming of Serbia delegation (Palilula Municipality) and then the floral exhibition was shortly afterwards opened.

TRAINEES – ENTREPRENEUR BEGINNERS GOT DIPLOMAS

23.04.2009.

Twenty-five students –trainees included in the training with the title "How to start your own business," that was launched in cooperation with the `Regional Center for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurship – Niš`, organized by Palilula Municipality, successfully went through their scheduled program that will enable their advantage when they once apply for start - up loans. The ceremony at the Local Community office "Palilula" gathered the students of this free training for the beginners in the enterprise, Palilula president PhD Igor Novakovic gave them diplomas.

`PALILULA NIGHT ` PREPARATIONS STARTED

21.04.2009.

Board for the celebration of traditional manifestation `Palilula Night`, formed after the decision of the Council of Palilula Municipality, held the first constitutional meeting. Milan Djurdjevic, president of Palilula Assembly was elected for the president of the Board and for the vice-president Bratislav Vuckovic, deputy-manager of JKP Mediana, public enterprise.

The task of this Board, constituted of the representatives of municipalities, institutions, organizations and individuals from Palilula, is to create the programme of celebrating `Palilula Night` that will take place on Wednesday June 3 2009.

PERGOLESI IN HUMANITARIAN PURPOSES

16.04.2009.

The audience of Nis had the unique opportunity to enjoy in the master piece of Italian composer G. B. Perogolesi `Stabat Mater` in the time of Easter holidays.

This Easter concert was organized by NKC in the cooperation with the National Theatre of Nis and Palilula Municipality. `Konstantinus` trio from Nis played Peroglessi notes in the hall of National Theatre. `Konstantinus` chamber orchestra with Igor Aleksic, violine, were followed by the Chamber chorus of Nis with conductor Ivana Mirovic soloists: Katarina Simonovic-Ivankovic (soprano) and Aleksandra Ristic (mezzo-soprano).

SCHOOL EDUCATIONAL ACCESSORIES DONATED

14.04.2009.

Palilula Municipality provided school tackle and various educational accessories for the pupils of `14 Oktobar` school in Nis. This special school is primary and secondary education school for the disabled children. School material, as a gift, was donated by Cvetko Pejcic, private entrepreneur from Nis.

Zorica Stojiljkovic, member of Palilula Municipal council, visited `14 Oktobar` and together with school headmaster Olgica Kostic and the teachers of this school talked about the current problems of daily school work.

HUMANITARIAN EASTER CONCERT

10.04.2009.

While waiting for the coming Easter holidays, Nis audience will have an opportunity to enjoy in the masterpiece of Italian composer Giovanni Battista Pergolesi `Stabat Mater` on Thursday April 16 at National theatre of Nis at 20 00 hours.

Humanitarian Easter concert, organized by NKC (Nis Cultural Center) and Palilula Municipality, will be performed by `Constantinus` chamber orchestra, Chamber chorus of Nis with conductor Ivana Mirovic and soloists: Katarina Simonovic-Ivankovic (soprano) and Aleksandra Ristic (mezzo-soprano).

COOPERATION STARTS IN EDUCATIONAL FIELD

10.04.2009.

The representatives of Bulgarian Municipality Svoge Veronika Marinova, Silvia Angleova and Petranka Dimitrova, who took part part at the last `Fair of tourism, ecology and sport` in Nis, were welcomed by PhD Igor Novakovic, president of Palilula Municipality. Milan Djurdjevic, president of Palilula Assembly and Boban Mikic, councilor also participated at this meeting. During this occasion they talked of the realization of the programme of cooperation of two municipalities after the signing Twinning agreement. First of the activities will be the visit to Svoge Municipality on April 23 this year.

FIRST PRIZE FOR THE MOST BEAUTIFUL DECORATED FAIR SPACE GOES TO PALILULA MUNICIPALITY

08.-10.04.2009.

Palilula Municipality won the first prize for the best decorated fair space at 10 `International fair of tourism ecology and sport`, organized in Cair Hall from April 8-10 2009.

The visitors of this tourist, trade and ecological manifestation, that gathered over 30 participants-presenters from Serbia and abroad, had the opportunity to see the offer of ethno and rural tourism of Palilula, since the tourist potentials of Palilula are mostly of rural type. It was all presented by `Ethno Association Palilula` including the possibilities of horse riding which were presented by `Nonios` horse riding club.

SEVENTH MEETING OF PALILULA ASSEMBLY HELD

09.04.2009.

Seventh meeting of Palilula Assembly, summoned by Milan Djurdjevic, president of of Palilula Assembly, was held on April 9 2009 in NKC. In the work of this meeting 25 aldermen, 25 Municipal councilors and president Novakovic took part.

After acknowledging the minutes of the VI meeting, the councilors and aldermen talked about Agreement on twinning between Palilula Municipality and Svoge Municipality from Bulgaria and brought the Decision on ratification of this Agreement.

REMEMBERING THE CIVIL VICTIMS OF NIS BOMBING ON APRIL 8 1941

08.04.2009.

The representatives of Palilula Municipality together with `Stari Nis`, the association that cherishes the tradition of rich cultural and historical heritage of Nis, gathered at `Gorica` Old cemetery of Nis for remembering the people who were killed in bombing of Nis in 1941.

Wreaths with flowers were brought to this memorial place by Mr Novakovic, president of Palilula Municipality, Nikola Dj. Jovanovic, president of `Stari Nis` association and Milorad Stosic, city councilor, all mourned over the painful memories of bombing Nis 68 years ago.

MEETING WITH UNESCO DIRECTOR FOR THE BALKANS

03.04.2009.

PhD Engelbert Ros, director of UNESCO BRESCE in Venice, visited the participants of "Spring school of cord theory, cosmology and particles - SSSCP2009 (http://seenet-mtp.info/ssscp2009/), which takes part in Nis from April 1 to April 4 2009 at Department of Physics Science and Mathematics Faculty (PMF) in the cooperation with the Belgrade Astronomical Observatory (AOB) and local co -organizer – branch office of physicists society Serbia – Nis. Dr Ros spoke about the current and future regional cooperation.

MEETING WITH THE OWNERS OF HOTELS AND HOSTELS

02.04.2009.

Palilula Municipality organized the work meeting with the representatives of the hotels: `Aleksandar`, `Panorama`, `Vidikovac`, `Zeleni Vir`, `Svetlost` and hostels `Evropa` and `Marvel`. All of them are from Palilula Municipal territory. The representatives of the hotels and hostels were welcomed by councilor Boban Mikic with his associates and the representative of new opened public enterprise `Gorica`.

One of the themes was the joint presentation at `10 International fair of tourism, ecology and sport` that will take place from April 8 to April 10 2009 in Cair Hall in Nis. The representatives of the hotels and hostels defined the details and the ways of representing their capacities at the coming Fair.
